TKF currently runs two year-long professional development programs, geared towards students in their sophomore year of high school: The Lady Elegance Pageant Program and the Career Academy. The Career Academy is a program by which Chicagoland graduate students to into Cook County high schools and teach students about STEM, Medical, and Legal careers. At present, TKF has partnered with Northwestern graduate students to teach our inaugural Career Academy students.
The Lady Elegance Program exposes participants to diverse mentors in a variety of careers and has social, professional, and global aspects that seek to expand the knowledge base of participants. Also, Lady Elegance culminates in a pageant where participants showcase what they have learned during the school year. Over the course of both programs, guest speakers will present to participants on a variety of topics regarding professional development and life skills. Further, participants will have the unique opportunity to research challenges faced by teenagers in another country and draft proposals to help solve said problems.
TKF is excited to announce that Legal Prep Charter Academy (4319 W Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL) is hosting the Lady Elegance Program for the 2017-2018 school year. If you, or someone you know, is interested in participating in the program or serving as a mentor, please email .

The Kirkwood Foundation: Where we invest
in the future one child at a time.
The Kirkwood Foundation (“TKF”) partners with schools and nonprofit organizations in the Chicagoland area to expose students to diverse professionals in high net worth careers. Although TKF’s mentors and volunteers work within a wide array of professions, we focus on recruiting mentors and developing programming that encourages students to explore STEM, medical and legal careers. Additionally, we emphasize the value of entrepreneurship. TKF, through its dedicated volunteers, hosts workshops, programs, and events, which focus on developing socially conscious, globally aware, and professionally developed students!
